Who we are.

Tyne Youth & Community Centre is an establishment set up to provide a space for the local community to use to learn, keep fit, make friends, and have fun. We’re on Mariners’ Lane in Tynemouth and run 7 days a week.

We have a multitude of clubs running out of our venue, from Judo for all ages, Highland Dancing, Boogie Bounce, Yoga, Hart Beeps parent & toddler classes, Mini Science parent & toddler groups, Korean Kick boxing classes for all ages and regularly host competitions on our main hall for dance & martial arts in our state of the art Dojo.

Our History.

The club was formed in 1949 mainly as a boxing club based in the cellars of Knotts Flats. In 1967 it relocated to its current location, and after the original wooden hut was burned down in the late 1990s the club was rebuilt in 2000.

The centre has undergone a major facelift recently to bring it up to modern day standards and offers space to hire for local groups, free WiFi, shower and changing facilities, private car park and for the dedicated trainer a free weights room should anyone wish to up their training regime. If you are looking for space at a competitive rate then give us a call!
